After the Second World War, a new housing estate was built in the Buckland Valley
on the outskirts of Dover. A church was included in the plans and opened in
1947. In 1960, the current Church of St Nicholas was consecrated to serve the
spiritual needs of the growing population.
In 2006, the building was re-developed to include rooms suitable for a weekday Childrens' Centre,
retaining a separate and cosy place of worship at the far end of the building from the road - a real haven of quiet!
